The Adventure Kings 200W Solar Blanket with MPPT solar regulator is one of the easiest and best ways to keep your battery charged up and your 12V accessories running while you’re at camp.
The 20 amp Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) regulator is able to calculate and output the maximum amount of power that your solar panel can provide, so whether it’s a bright, sunny day or there are clouds passing over you can rely on it to maximise the charge rate into your battery. In fact, the MPPT efficiency can be up to 99% - that means on those perfect, bright days you can get very close to the full 200W of output from your solar setup!
The 200W Solar Blanket itself is light weight and compact when it’s folded up which makes it easy to transport, easy to carry and quick and easy to set up. Made up of six solar panels that utilise Grade A monocrystalline solar cells and 5 bus bar technology, you know you can rely on this bit of gear to consistently and reliably put out high power!
Although small in size the solar blanket is capable of generating up to 200W of power. Great for keeping batteries topped up, ideal to power your fridge, lights and other gadgets at camp.
Everything you need to charge your battery is included in the kit; first there’s the 20A (MPPT) controller to regulate charging voltage and ensure your battery is charged safely and efficiently. Plus, the kit also includes a 4.4m extension cable for extra reach as well as a pair of alligator clips to allow you to connect directly to your battery terminals. WHAT DOES AGM MEAN?
AGM is short of absorbed glass matting – it means that unlike a typical car battery that’s full of liquid, an AGM battery uses a thick, suspended gel. The different internal components allows AGM batteries to be used inside a vehicle as they won’t leak and they’re a non-gassing design
ARE THESE SAFE TO USE IN MY VEHICLE’S CABIN?
Yes, Adventure Kings AGM batteries are safe to use in your vehicle. They will not leak and are a non-gassing design
WHAT DOES AMP HOUR MEAN?
Amp hours are a unit of measurement that combines current (in Amps) with time (in hours).
If you run an electrical device that draws 1 amp for 3 hours, it would equal 3 Amp hours. Similarly, if you ran a device that draws 3 amps for 1 hour, it would again equal 3 Amp hours.
The Adventure Kings 98Ah AGM deep cycle battery can provide a total of 98Ah over a 20 hour period – that’s just under 5 Amps per hour – so if you were running accessories that used a total of 5Amps, you could expect just under 20 hours of use.
HOW LONG CAN I RUN MY FRIDGE OFF THIS BATTERY?
It depends on a lot of factors including the fridge temperature and ambient temperature as well as how many time you open your fridge and how many amps the fridge draws while it’s running.
An Adventure Kings 45L fridge set at 3°C in 32°C ambient temperature will use around 1AH per hour if you leave it closed, with a 98Ah battery you can regularly discharge to 50% capacity, so at best you could expect 49 hours of use before your battery should be recharged.
HOW DO I RECHARGE THE BATTERY?
You can use a 240V charger at home, but look for one that has a setting for AGM batteries as they do require specific charging voltages. You can also use an Adventure Kings Solar Kit or Dual Battery System if you want to charge your battery while you’re at camp or on the move.
If you have a solar panel with a regulator like the Adventure Kings Folding Solar Kits or Solar Blanket Kits, it’s safe to keep your solar plugged into your battery all day even while you’re using it, so that it’s constantly being charged
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY BATTERY NEEDS TO BE RECHARGED?
If you have an Adventure Kings Battery Box or a multimeter or voltmeter, you can roughly estimate your remaining battery power so you’ll know when it needs to be recharged.
Disconnect any chargers or solar panels, disconnect any loads like fridges or lights and then check the voltage
12.9V and above means fully charged
12.6 is around ¾ quarter charged
and 12.3V is around 50% Charged – time to recharge your battery!
If you have a solar panel with a regulator like the Adventure Kings Folding Solar Kits or Solar Blanket Kits, it’s safe to keep your solar plugged into your battery all day even while you’re using it, so that it’s constantly being charged and you can avoid discharging it further than necessary.

CAN I PLUG MY SOLAR DIRECTLY INTO THE QUICK CONNECT PLUGS?
Yes, so long as the solar has a regulator connected before plugging into the battery.
CAN I PERMANENTLY MOUNT THIS BOX
Yes, although it doesn’t come with any of the required hardware to permanently mount, you could use the Adventure Kings as a permanent box

WHAT DOES AGM MEAN?
AGM is short of absorbed glass matting – it means that unlike a typical car battery that’s full of liquid, an AGM battery uses a thick, suspended gel. The different internal components allows AGM batteries to be used inside a vehicle as they won’t leak and they’re a non-gassing design
ARE THESE SAFE TO USE IN MY VEHICLE’S CABIN?
Yes, Adventure Kings AGM batteries are safe to use in your vehicle. They will not leak and are a non-gassing design
WHAT DOES AMP HOUR MEAN?
Amp hours are a unit of measurement that combines current (in Amps) with time (in hours).
If you run an electrical device that draws 1 amp for 3 hours, it would equal 3 Amp hours. Similarly, if you ran a device that draws 3 amps for 1 hour, it would again equal 3 Amp hours.
The Adventure Kings 98Ah AGM deep cycle battery can provide a total of 98Ah over a 20 hour period – that’s just under 5 Amps per hour – so if you were running accessories that used a total of 5Amps, you could expect just under 20 hours of use.
HOW LONG CAN I RUN MY FRIDGE OFF THIS BATTERY?
It depends on a lot of factors including the fridge temperature and ambient temperature as well as how many time you open your fridge and how many amps the fridge draws while it’s running.
An Adventure Kings 45L fridge set at 3°C in 32°C ambient temperature will use around 1AH per hour if you leave it closed, with a 98Ah battery you can regularly discharge to 50% capacity, so at best you could expect 49 hours of use before your battery should be recharged.
HOW DO I RECHARGE THE BATTERY?
You can use a 240V charger at home, but look for one that has a setting for AGM batteries as they do require specific charging voltages. You can also use an Adventure Kings Solar Kit or Dual Battery System if you want to charge your battery while you’re at camp or on the move.
If you have a solar panel with a regulator like the Adventure Kings Folding Solar Kits or Solar Blanket Kits, it’s safe to keep your solar plugged into your battery all day even while you’re using it, so that it’s constantly being charged
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY BATTERY NEEDS TO BE RECHARGED?
If you have an Adventure Kings Battery Box or a multimeter or voltmeter, you can roughly estimate your remaining battery power so you’ll know when it needs to be recharged.
Disconnect any chargers or solar panels, disconnect any loads like fridges or lights and then check the voltage
12.9V and above means fully charged
12.6 is around ¾ quarter charged
and 12.3V is around 50% Charged – time to recharge your battery!
If you have a solar panel with a regulator like the Adventure Kings Folding Solar Kits or Solar Blanket Kits, it’s safe to keep your solar plugged into your battery all day even while you’re using it, so that it’s constantly being charged and you can avoid discharging it further than necessary.

DO I NEED TO PUT A BATTERY INSIDE?
Yes, the Battery Box requires a battery inside to function
WHAT SIZE BATTERY FITS?
The maximum battery size is 360L x 185W x 230H, and with the adjustable support piece it will work with batteries down to 260mm in length. Generally, 12V batteries up to approximately 120Ah will fit
CAN I PLUG MY SOLAR DIRECTLY INTO THE QUICK CONNECT PLUGS?
Yes, so long as the solar has a regulator connected before plugging into the battery.
CAN I PERMANENTLY MOUNT THIS BOX
Yes, although it doesn’t come with any of the required hardware to permanently mount, you could use the Adventure Kings as a permanent box
IS THE BATTERY BOX WATERPROOF
No, it’s not tested or rated to be waterproof. While it does provide some protection from the elements it’s not designed to completely shield the electrics and battery inside
